SASE analyst placements in 2026, in each vendor's own words

Each of the six vendors on this site cites an analyst placement on its own pages. Cato, Zscaler and Netskope state Leader placements in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for SASE Platforms, Palo Alto Networks states a 4X Leader placement, Fortinet describes itself as a Challenger, and Cisco states it was named a SASE Leader without naming the report. We quote them and do not score them.

Uptime, threats and signals: how to read SASE vendor numbers

SASE vendors publish many numbers: uptime SLAs, PoP and data center counts, threats blocked, daily signals, app catalogue sizes and CVE response times. Each is the vendor's own figure, measured its own way. Read the unit and the basis before you compare.

Sovereign and self-hosted options in SASE: what vendors describe

Most SASE is delivered from the vendor's cloud. Fortinet describes a FortiSASE Sovereign option deployed in the customer's own data centers, and Cato describes on-premises protection for homegrown AI apps through Outposts. The other vendors do not describe self-hosted options on the pages we read.

SD-WAN inside SASE: how each vendor ships the networking half

Every vendor on this site offers SD-WAN in some form, but they ship it differently: as a cloud service on the same platform, as a separate product line under shared management, or as a zero trust branch alternative to classic SD-WAN. How it is shipped decides how much of SASE is truly one service.
